At Salima, we are dedicated to transforming healthcare outcomes and fostering healthier communities across Egypt, with a special focus on underserved areas. Our projects are designed to address critical public health challenges through a multi-faceted approach of awareness, education, and direct support.
- To eradicate Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) by fundamentally shifting societal perception from acceptance to outright rejection, and by empowering healthcare providers to lead in FGM reconstruction rather than its performance.
1 - Salima FGM Project
- Conduct targeted awareness campaigns using culturally resonant language, especially for rural Upper Egypt.
- Launch dedicated campaigns promoting FGM reconstruction procedures.
- Collaborate with physicians to facilitate female reproductive organ reconstructive surgeries through Salima’s Healthcare Facility.
Our Vision
To significantly improve maternal and infant health outcomes by reducing early childbearing, aiming to decrease the number of first babies born to mothers under 20 years old, thereby minimizing associated mortality and morbidity.
2- Salima First Child Beneficiaries Project
Our Approach
Implement targeted awareness campaigns educating women in rural Upper Egypt on the optimal age for childbearing to ensure healthier outcomes for both mother and child.
- To champion natural labor as the preferred and primary choice for all women, ensuring Cesarean sections are performed only when medically necessary, and thus decreasing rates of unnecessary surgical interventions.
3- Salima's Natural Labor Initiative
- Launch extensive public awareness campaigns on the benefits of natural labor via television and online platforms.
- Develop specialized training programs for doctors (targeting both private and public sectors) on best practices for natural labor.
- Create comprehensive training programs for nurses and midwives to enhance their crucial role in supporting natural labor.
- To become the preferred strategic partner for all family planning stakeholders in Egypt, working collaboratively to significantly reduce the unmet need for contraception across the nation.
4- Salima Family Planning Project
- Forge strong partnerships with funding organizations to bridge the existing gap in unmet contraception needs.
- Work in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MOH), Urban Health Initiative (UHI), and other relevant government bodies to achieve our shared goals.
- Lead impactful public awareness campaigns on the importance and benefits of contraception.
- Provide comprehensive training and essential materials to caregivers involved in family planning services.

5- Salima Oncology and Pelvic Diseases Project
Our Approach
- Forge strategic partnerships with NGOs specializing in chemotherapy and radiotherapy to ensure holistic patient support.
- Collaborate closely with the Ministry of Health (MOH), Urban Health Initiative (UHI), and government bodies to align efforts and achieve shared goals.
- Lead impactful awareness campaigns for the early detection and timely diagnosis of oncology and pelvic diseases.
- Provide comprehensive training and essential materials to caregivers, empowering them to accurately diagnose and effectively treat patients suffering from malignancies or other pelvic diseases.
